White varieties

5 principal varieties are planted:

White Grenache, grows well and stands up to the wind, gives good potential alcohol and chunky textured characters.

Roussanne, an average grower, suits loamy limestone soil. It´s a delicate grape with great finesse and complex flavours.

Clairette, a vigourous variety that´s more sensitive to wind but adapts well to dry stoney soil. It gives rounded wines with fine, complex and floral aromas.

Bourboulenc, rustic and sappy, cries out for warmth. It gives fresh and lively white wines with floral tones.

Picpoul, a slow grower, lends elegance and subtle qualities.
